I’m not usually ones for setting myself resolutions, there is rarely things I want to change or achieve, which now I’ve actually written it seems kind of sad, I guess I do go with the flow of life – take a chance and what happens, happens! The obvious ones are stop eating so much crap and get healthy, stop spending so much money on junk and get my butt down the gym more than once a week. This month I’ve read some amazing posts and felt really inspired so here’s my list of goals and keeping motivated in 2016.
Honestly Soph Goals and Keeping Motivated
To think I was buying a coffee most days over the Christmas break. Over a two week period, that’s about £42 and having literally just figured that out, it’s a bit of a shock! I’ve decided it is time to save my pennies and I’ve found a cool plan on Pinterest. Keep up the 52 week saving challenge with me – so far I’m on week 4 of 52 which means I’ve saved a total of £10 I have a feeling this is going to start getting harder! So since leaving university back in 2014, I rarely pick up a book these days, unless it’s got food recipes in it! One of my personal goals for this year is to read more – I need to keep my brain working, keep learning, especially since I’m loving this whole blogging thing and would love to expand my grammar! Here are a few bits and bobs I’ve been reading:

I was fortunate enough to get an amazing DSLR for Christmas from my parents. One little glitch is that I’m not the best at using said camera! It is an investment so I can make my videos and blog pictures awesome! The better I get with using my camera and the happier I am with my images and footage (without going 100% Photoshop on it), the more it will keep me motivated to creating content I’m super proud of! I get a lot of inspiration from watching other YouTube videos and reading posts from some of my favourite bloggers! Becoming inspired by what is being created around you and learning how to express that through your own creative outlet, I think, is a brilliant way of sticking to creative content goals and keeping motivated.
This tends to happen every year, but now my whole family has got involved! We’ve all joined local gym, Xtreme Muscle Gym. Working out in groups and with a friend is a brilliant way to achieve fitness goals and keeping motivated! I am 100% more likely to go to the gym if I know there will be friendly faces there! Classes are awesome too, put your name for a months worth, if you’ve made the commitment to go and told someone else, you’re less likely to back out and if you join a gym there is a high chance classes will be included in your membership! My favourite class at the moment is Xtreme Circuits, an hours hardcore full body workout!
Something I’ve always thought I’m good at but in reality I’m not… being organised. Organisation really is the key to setting goals and keeping motivated! I recently invested in an iPhone 6s Plus and I am a huge fan of the calendar, notes and reminders apps on here! On my previous phone the Sony Z2 the calendar functions were confusing because it was all do to with email addresses, but we won’t get into that! As a huge fan of lists (LOVE A LIST!), being able to write the list and physically tick it off on my phone gives me great satisfaction! I also love desk planners and charts! I have a few… I am the stationary Queen in our household! This one is so simple and doubles up as a mousepad – Mousepad: 5 Days a Week Planner. As a blogger and general stationary fanatic, I am absolutely lusting over the Passion Planner a tad on the pricey side but serious #goals. Then the other blogging bible which is the The Bloggers Planner, with its quirky phrases and beautiful typography, I seriously want to get my hands on one of these! (Valentines Day is coming up soon Jack if you’re reading this).
